These web pages presents the results of the Water Treament Research and Development projects carried out during Closedure project. During the project, performance of different passive treatment technologies applied at closed mine sites was studied. The studied technologies included aerobic wetland formed in former settling ponds, constucted aerobic and compost wetland, and biological in-situ sulphate reduction in a pit lake using sulphate reducing bacteria. Results of the studies are presented in the following articles:
